THE MOMENT ALREADY MOVED PEOPLE

Jimothy gave the internet a reason to pull in the same direction.

Before this initiative existed, a Jimothy art auction sparked a company giving wave for Ballard Food Bank. Eight organizations joined in, helping corporate pledges pass $58,000.

That happened organically. This initiative asks a simple question: what if more brands chose that same collaborative energy? Read the reported story ↗

02 / THE IDEA

DIFFERENT INDUSTRIES. ONE SIGNAL.

The internet does not need another brand war.

It could use one unmistakably positive moment. #Jimothy gives social teams a light, recognizable way to say: we can compete without making everything hostile.

01

Readable in a second

A single hashtag and a round cultural icon. Audiences understand the nod without a campaign explainer.

02

Native to your voice

Warm, deadpan, useful, strange—keep the tone your audience already recognizes. There is no mandatory script.

03

Open by design

No category ownership, exclusivity, fee, or ad commitment. Participation means adding your own good signal.

03 / HOW TO JOIN

LIGHT LIFT. CLEAR INTENT.

Make one small thing people want to pass along.

Participation is voluntary and flexible. A post, reply, visual gag, useful community note, or collaboration all count.

Organic reach varies. The initiative does not promise engagement, amplification, or endorsement.

THE ONE NON-NEGOTIABLE

Celebrate the neighbor. Protect the animal.

Jimothy is a wild raccoon whose condition has not been definitively diagnosed. Do not approach, feed, handle, trap, or publish a precise live location. Keep creative posts playful and real-world behavior respectful.

FOR SOCIAL + COMMS TEAMS

Before you ask.

What is the actual goal?+

To make a lightweight, public signal of cooperation easier for brands to use. Jimothy is common cultural language: warm, recognizable, and bigger than any one category.

Why should our brand participate?+

It is a timely chance to show humanity, join a positive cultural moment, and give your audience something generous to rally around. Participation is free; results are not guaranteed.

Is there a contract or exclusivity?+

No. A post, reply, or collaborative nod is enough. There is no fee, category lock, media minimum, or required wording.

Does participation imply an endorsement?+

No. Your post speaks for your organization only. The Jimothy Initiative is independent and fan-led; it does not represent Jimothy’s original videographers, wildlife authorities, the City of Seattle, or any participating brand.

Can we use a photo or someone’s artwork?+

Only with permission or a valid license. The hashtag is open; other people’s photos, video, illustrations, logos, and characters remain their property. Original brand creative is the cleanest route.

THE INTERNET IS WATCHING

Be on the well-rounded side of history.

One post. One reply. One collaborative nod. Make the signal your own.
